Julie Pizzi

President of Entertainment and Development

With more than 20 years of experience producing hundreds of hours of television, Julie Pizzi serves as President of Entertainment and Development at Bunim/Murray Productions (BMP). She is charged with creative and development responsibility for all format series and is focused on increasing the development of original formats and the production of existing BMP and Banijay formats in the U.S. Most recently, she developed and served as Executive Producer of the highly anticipated talk show, Bill Nye Saves the World, launched on Netflix in the Spring of 2017 and was one of the first partners with Facebook to launch the Ball In The Family series on their Watch platform.

 

​Pizzi began her television career at BMP in 1994 and served as Creative Vice President and Showrunner for six years, where she spearheaded development and executive produced high-rated seasons of Road Rules and Real World/Road Rules Challenge (MTV) as well as Born to Diva (VH1).

 

Pizzi continues to oversee the Challenge franchise for MTV as the series evolves and engages a wider demographic.

In 2004, Pizzi went on to launch award-winning reality and documentary company, PB&J Television, with Patty Ivins. As Co-President of PB&J, Pizzi executive produced Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search (NBC), critically acclaimed documentary Reversal of Fortune (Showtime), teen favorite America’s Prom Queen (ABC Family), provocative therapy series Bad Sex (LOGO) as well as four seasons of the hit show Dress My Nest (Style). Pizzi is currently producing the second season of breakout family comedy, Flex & Shanice (OWN) and has produced many hours of programming for HGTV, Food Network, SYFY, Travel Channel, A&E, AMC, CMT, Lifetime, The CW, TLC and Discovery.

 

​Pizzi returned to BMP in 2015 and PB&J Television entered into a pod deal with the company.
